Community Involvement

As a member-owned credit union, we believe it’s important to offer our time, talents and treasure to the communities where our members live and work. This year our staff participated in the following charitable causes:

  • Teamed-up for “Bowl For Kids’ Sake” to raise more than $1,300 for Big Brothers & Big Sisters
  • Raised $211 for Children’s Miracle Network by raffling-off gift baskets at the 2018 Annual Meeting
  • Awarded $500 college scholarships to members Nolan Krueger (Atkins, IA), McKenna Wilson (Cedar Rapids, IA) & Bethany Darling (Marion, IA)
  • Donated blood on “World Blood Donor Day”
  • Collected non-perishable food donations to benefit Easter Iowa Freedom From Hunger
  • Hosted our 5th Annual Charity Cookout & raises $540 for the Helping Hands Ministry
  • Participated in the “Especially For You” Race Against Breast Cancer
  • Several staff members donated their day off (Veterans Day) to HACAP – the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program. They helped sort and organize food together…and of course, had fun doing it!
  • Rang the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

  • Raised $259 to support the United Way by paying to wear jeans and welcoming members’ contributions
  • Held our annual canned food drive. Collected 230 pounds of food and $470 cash for the Linn Area Food Bank
